Take the No Spend Month Challenge

Last January our family took a No Spend Month Challenge. We drastically reduced our spending for one month. After all the spending and consumption of the holiday season, January seemed to be the ideal time of year to do an experiment in frugal living. Being careful about what we spend is important to us to be able to maintain a lifestyle. It is not an extravagant one by any means. Just the opposite, we want to afford for me to stay home with our little boy. We want to be able to afford nutritious food. We want to be able to spend quality time together doing the things we love instead of feeling stressed about the bills we have to pay. We are still learning and always trying to improve, so we’re going to do No Spend Month again.

This year you are invited to join us in taking the No Spend Month Challenge starting January 1, 2013. Have you already gone into debt buying Christmas gifts? Would you love to be a stay at home mom but don’t think you can afford it? Have you resolved to get back on budget in 2013? If so, then this challenge is for you!

What is No Spend Month?

At this point you’re probably asking yourself, so I really can’t spend anything? The answer is no, or maybe. No spend month is an experiment in frugal living. You set your own rules. Try and think of what would truly challenge you to change your spending habits. If an entire month is too overwhelming, try it for a week. You could just give up coffee or eating out. If you’re really adventurous you could challenge yourself to spend absolutely nothing this month. Whatever you decide to do, it is sure to have great results for you and your family!During No Spend Month I’ll post:

  • How to make a budget, and stick to it.
  • Money saving tips
  • Frugal Recipe Ideas

As an author and coach, I've had the joy of encouraging more than 9.1 million moms to find forward motion with their faith, family, and finances — without the frenzy.
